Put Scott Lynch in a competitive situation...whether it be behind the wheel of his No. 08 Lynch Mob Motorsports/Yerf-Dog sponsored NASCAR Winston West Dodge or in any other type of competition and he has one goal in mind...to finish first! "I've always liked going fast and I definitely have a competitive nature," smiles Lynch "I'm extremely goal oriented and prefer being a leader rather than a follower." And, it is this attitude that makes Scott Lynch one of the top competitors in the NASCAR Winston West Series.

A senior at the University of Utah, Lynch has been competing professionally for the past six years. In fact, he broke into one of the local NASCAR racing series just three days after his 16th birthday, taking the Modified Division at the Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho.

"I loved it from the word go," explains Lynch, who was born and raised in Burley, Idaho. "And as soon as I got behind the wheel, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in racing." Running locally for the next three years Scott began to carve a definite name for himself, earning numerous honors and accolades along the way.

Continuing his charge up the ladder of success, Lynch next moved into the NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series and began carving a name for himself. Finishing 10th in the overall point standings, he also took home the Rookie of the Year title. Last season, entering five out of ten races, Lynch earned his first NASCAR Winston West victory at Las Vegas and took two top fives and 4 top 10 finishes.

In addition to his racing career, education is an extremely important factor in this twenty-two year olds life. Graduating from high school, Lynch now attends the University of Utah where he is majoring in communications with a minor in business. "Both Communication and business are a big part of racing," continues Lynch "You can no longer just show up at the track and go fast, you have to be able to continually interface with sponsors. media and fans. In short, racing today is a business and the more knowledge you have, the better your chance of success. The time I have spent in college has really helped and I wouldn't trade my education for anything."

Constantly on the go, Lynch doesn't spend much time sitting around. When not working on his racing career or going to school, he can be found working in the family business, snowboarding, enjoying a variety of water sports and other outdoor activities.

"We are an extremely close family," continues Lynch. "My younger brother also races and we both go to each other's events. Our family is right there every race cheering us on and that makes it really special."

A young upcoming talent, there is no doubt that Scott Lynch will go a long was in the world of NASCAR.
